Requirements for Becoming a Surrogate

To be considered as a surrogate mother, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Age Range: Be between the ages of 21 and 38 years.
  • Pregnancy History: Have successfully carried at least one pregnancy to full term without complications.
  • Delivery History: No more than two c-sections.
  • Residency: Live in a surrogate-friendly state such as California, Texas, Florida, Nevada, or Oregon.
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Health Criteria: Maintain a BMI under 30 (use this BMI calculator).
  • Medications: Must not currently be taking medications for anxiety or depression, as these can impact pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
  • Lifestyle: Non-smoker, with no exposure to second-hand smoke, vaping, or medical marijuana.
  • Background: Have no criminal record and not be receiving any state or federal assistance.
  • Financial Stability: Be financially independent.
  • COVID Vaccination: You are not required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to apply.
